More Tips For Working in Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw Mode - Removing Blemishes

Open the image in the Camera Raw mode by right clicking on the image in Adobe Bridge and selecting Open in Camera Raw. After the image opens, locate the blemish that you want to remove and zoom in on the blemish. This can be done by selecting the Zoom Tool Icon in the upper left corner of the window or by clicking on the "+" sign in the lower left hand corner of the window. I prefer the Zoom Tool because not only does it zoom in but it also re-positions the image in the window.

After you have zoomed in to a size that permits you to make the corrections, click to select the Retouch Tool Icon. This Tools Icon resembles a small paint brush and is located seventh from the left on the toolbar. After you have selected the Retouch Tool, another tool bar will appear containing a Radius Selector Tool and Type Pull-down Menu on the left and a Show Overlay tick box and Clear All click box on the right of the menu.

With the number 1 selected in the Radius Box, click on the blemish. Two circles will appear adjacent to each other; one comprised of Green-White dashes and one comprised of Red-White dashes. The Red-White dashed circle should completely cover the blemish. If it does not, increase the radius number value from 1 to 2.

Alternatively, you can place the cursor on the circumference of one of the circles and by holding down the left mouse button and dragging, the diameter of the circles will increase. Drag the diameter until the blemish is completely covered. Located adjacent to the Red-White dashed circle will be a Green-White dashed circle. While clicking and holding on the Green-White dashed circle drag it to an area nearby with similar properties to the area covered by the blemish. After releasing the circle, determine if the coverage of the blemish is appropriate. If it is not, repeat the process of dragging the Green-White circle until you are satisfied with the results.

Repeat this process for all the blemishes that you want to remove. When you are completed, click "Done" or open the image in Photoshop and save it to the file name and size that you require or continue editing the image in Photoshop if required.
